VIOLET

This is a pitch I developed alongside Heidi Robertson-Reid and Jared Balfoort about a love story in Tokyo.

‘VIOLET’ is a story about persisting against the back-currents of life, breaking away from distraction, and following your heart.

Love is everywhere, should we choose to see it.

SYNOPSIS

The morning peak hour in Tokyo is as busy as ever with commuters crowding the train. Olive is part of this crowd, sullen and weary. Amidst the fog of the train rumble, Olive spots a woman with hair glowing violet across the carriage. The woman meets his eyes and a connection sparks between them. However, before anything can develop further, Violet is suddenly pushed off the train due to overloading, and Olive loses sight of her as the train pulls away from the platform.

Thus begins Olive’s desperate journey to find Violet again, but to do so, he must navigate the impossibly suffocating crowds of Tokyo’s streets.

In an ongoing fight against the current of commuters, Olive begins seeing signs that guide his way, signs that emit violet light. Letting the light be his guide, he manages to overcome the bustling city. Olive finally finds his way back to Violet, and their love is able to begin blossoming.
